Bangkok · Getting Started session

I had been putting off looking at my pension statements for years because they felt impenetrable. After two and a half hours with Vestapath I could actually read the thing and understand what the main figures referred to. The facilitator was patient and did not make anyone feel embarrassed for asking basic questions.

Sathorn · Records Tidy-Up session

The tidy-up session was genuinely useful. I arrived with a bag of unsorted paperwork going back several years and left with a properly organised folder and a system I could actually maintain at home. The half-day format felt about right — long enough to get through everything but not overwhelming. My only suggestion would be slightly more time on the storage section, but that is a small thing.

Sukhumvit · Learning Circle member

I joined the Learning Circle in January and have attended three of the four seasonal sessions so far. Each one has covered a different aspect of retirement records — the spring talk on understanding contribution gaps was particularly useful for me. The peer group element takes a session or two to feel comfortable, but once it does it is surprisingly valuable to hear how others are approaching the same questions.

Chiang Mai · Getting Started session

I travelled from Chiang Mai specifically for the Getting Started workshop and it was worth the trip. The session was clear about what it covered — and equally clear about what it did not, which I appreciated. I came away with the printed materials and have referred back to them several times since.

Thonglor · Records Tidy-Up session

The labelling system Nattaya walked us through was simple but not something I would have come up with on my own. My documents are now in a format where I can find anything within two minutes. The session was calm and not rushed — there was time to work through the material at a sensible pace.

Bangkok · Learning Circle member

The Learning Circle membership has become one of those things I genuinely look forward to each quarter. The topics are well chosen and the discussions feel like a proper conversation rather than a Q&A format where you wait your turn. Sophie keeps things on track without it feeling managed. Well worth the annual fee.

Success Stories

Participant Journeys

A closer look at how specific attendees moved from confusion to clarity.

Case Study 01

The Challenge

A retiree living in Bangkok had received annual pension statements from a UK provider for twelve years without ever fully understanding what the projected figures meant. She was unsure whether her records were accurate or whether anything needed to be done.

The Approach

She attended the Getting Started workshop, then a few months later joined the Records Tidy-Up session to sort a large folder of correspondence. By the end of the tidy-up session she had all twelve years of statements in order, clearly labelled by year and type.

The Result

She left with the confidence to read each year's statement independently and a clear reference list of which official bodies to contact for her individual situation. Her words: "I wish I had done this several years ago."

Case Study 02

The Challenge

A working professional with multiple previous employers had contributions spread across different pension schemes and had lost track of correspondence from some providers. His folder was a mixture of opened and unopened envelopes across five years.

The Approach

He attended the Records Tidy-Up session and worked through the pile with Nattaya's guidance. Documents were identified, sorted by scheme and year, and any gaps in the correspondence were noted so he knew what to request from each provider.

The Result

He left with a clear folder, a written list of what to follow up on, and an understanding of what each document type represented. The session took around three and a half hours. He later joined the Learning Circle to stay informed as his situation continued to develop.

Case Study 03

The Challenge

A couple approaching retirement age had tried to read general online guides but found the information either too basic or specific to jurisdictions that did not apply to them. They wanted a session where they could ask questions in the room.

The Approach

Both attended the Getting Started workshop together. The small group format meant their questions were addressed without waiting until the end. They found it helpful that the facilitator consistently distinguished between what general education could explain and what needed personal advice from the right official body.

The Result

They left with printed materials, a short list of next steps to take independently, and — as they described it — "the first sensible overview of the subject we have ever heard in one sitting." Both subsequently joined the Learning Circle for ongoing general information.
